A multi-skilled freelance artist established for 35 years in costumery & the arts, with 18 years dedicated to the carnival sector as a designer and producer of large-scale costumes featuring the integration of unique artwork within the design.

A creator of three-dimensional installations, as well as site decor for festivals & props for corporate, private and world-class events including the “The Dubai World Cup” and showcasing carnival costumes for Nice & Viareggio Carnival tourist boards, helping to attract thousands of visitors to their annual events.

Extending beyond carnival productions to also include specialised artworks including murals, portraits, screen-printing & experimental work using textile & technology as the heart of inspiration. Searching for new ideas is a daily pursuit.

Sculpture is another skill, working with willow, wire & tissue/ textiles leading to commissioned work including - Jimi Hendrix 18ft illuminated statue at “The Isle of Wight Festival 2007”.

The commission at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew 2010 with three large-scale bats for its pollination summer project, "Butterflies, Bugs & Beasties”, suspended within the Princess Diana Conservatory.

In 2012 Helen won an Isle of Wight island council tender on behalf of “Quture” to curate a three-day event in Ryde, and to then be invited by ‘The Eden Project’ to Cornwall for its execution of ‘The Big Lunch’.

Helen is continuously involved in the community-sharing skills with workshops for all ages, cultures & abilities.
